Nyasaland — One of the earliest arabicas to reach Africa: Typica brought from Jamaica to Nyasaland, now Malawi, in 1878. A flourishing industry followed by 1891, then declined in a hotter, drier climate. Today it survives mainly in collections as a Typica heirloom.
Citrus and florals with gentle acidity, clean light sweetness and the refined outline of early Typica.
Pour-over at 90-92 °C, 1:15, medium-fine grind, staged pours, to keep clarity and sweetness forward.
